It's amazing how old fruit crates can give life to new cuddly products!
This was the Indy Plush Booth at the SAGE 2013 Festival. Happy Earth Day everyone. Reduce, Re-use, and Recycle.

1st Innaugural S.A.G.E. Expo
My name is Eric Peterson and I am the owner of a small 100% environmental toner and office product company called REDODNO TECHNOLOGY which is based in Gardena, CA. Within the last two and one half months, I was contacted by Angie Silverman of s.a.g.e. in Manhattan Beach, CA. From what I recently learned, she had been involved in a local Manhattan Beach sustainable garden project and she formed a partnership with Mark Lipps, and they at that time conceptualized creating an event which would bring together local businesses and non-profit groups under the overall umbrella of sustainable business concepts. They conceptualized and implemented the s.a.g.e. Expo, and s.a.g.e. stands for sustainable and green environments. The event began on Saturday April 20th of 2013 at the CA National Guard Armory 578th Engineer Battalion at 3601 Bell Ave. in Manhattan Beach, CA. I had the opportunity to volunteer as a s.a.g.e. ambassador and was able to speak briefly to a national guardsman who serves the 578th and returned from Afghanistan not too long ago. We talked a bit about the sustainable side of the military, the use of solar powered field tents, and he spoke of smart chain generator systems which only use the exact amount of power needed. We looked over with appreciation at the large camouflaged Hummer ATV’s next to the showcased 95mpg Toyota Prius plug in hybrid and the Nissan Leaf. The s.a.g.e. Expo took up the inside of the armory as well as the front, side, and back. Vendors and non-profits began streaming in before 8AM and I know many were re-assured that they could keep their booths and supplies at the facility overnight at a locked secure military facility. Mark and Angie indeed created a high level of synergy and the place quickly filled up both inside and out, it was a very relaxed summer like atmosphere with something for everyone. I truly feel so highly fortunate that I was able to be of service and connect with so many other like-minded business and non-profit persons who each has a unique vision of how they can contribute to sustainable living and business. From the details of using recyclable food containers to having recycle containers provided by Waste Management all around the event, much thought went into this. To Mark Lipps and Angie Silverman, I for one am very glad you planted these seeds, our work has just begun.

SAFE and GREEN has 3 aims:

This is Luke's dog. Luke is our son. He is 7 years old. Last year, at age 6, he was in Ms.Masi's kindergarten class at Coeur D'Alene Elementary. Every year, Ms.Masi has this wonderful tradition that she asks her students to draw and animal and she then interprets it and returns it to them as a plush doll. [What a wonderful thing for a teacher to do! ]
Well, when Luke came home with the doll, we were so proud of him and more important, we were so impressed with Ms.Masi's dedication to her students. At the next parent-teacher conference we told her that if she needed help to create a business to let us know. Well...this fall she did and we formed Indy Plush. A business born out of love for a child, the environment, and education.

It's a wonderful thing to be recognized by an establishment known for excellence. Indy Plush is so lucky that the Ritz Carlton in Marina Del Rey is carrying our dolls and has placed them in their window display.
The staff has told us that children love them and everyone is intrigued by the curious dolls. Once guests find out that the dolls are designed and made locally from eco-friendly materials, they fly off the shelf.
The staff at the Ritz is so nice and has taken such an interest in learning the names of the dolls and the stories unique to each design, that they describe the dolls as if they were their relatives. Indy Plush wants to adopt them all as part of our Indy Plush family.
Thank you, Ritz....
